A man who was shot dead at a petrol station in Co Down has been named as 54-year-old Malcolm McKeown.
The incident took place in Main Street in the village of Waringstown last night.
Mr McKeown's body was found in his car, which was parked at the rear of the filling station, just before 9pm.
It is understood the incident is not initially being linked to dissident republican activity.
PSNI Detective Chief Inspector Peter Montgomery said: "Mr McKeown, who was a father of three, was shot in cold blood in broad daylight and I have now launched a murder investigation.
"I know that Mr McKeown entered the shop at Dewarts Garage at approximately 19.15hrs on Monday and when he came out he walked to his vehicle parked to the side of the garage. It was around this time that the gunman or gunmen shot him."
DCI Montgomery has appealed for anyone with any information to contact the PSNI.
