The Daniel O'Donnell Visitor Centre in Dungloe will not be opening as normal next month because the building in which it is housed has been sold and the centre has closed as a result.
The Donegal centre was opened by Daniel himself in a fanfare of publicity in May 2012.
It contains a great amount of memorabilia, including gold and platinum albums, many awards and stage outfits, as well as Daniel's wedding suit and his wife Majella's wedding dress.
The visitor centre is part of the Stepping Stone Bar and Bistro, the new owner of which required vacant possession.
The promoter of the centre Pat Nora Gallagher said it was with regret that he announced its closure and thanked all those who had supported the venture.
Mr Gallagher and his wife Anne had a special thanks to Daniel and Majella for allowing them the opportunity to showcase their special moments.
The closure of the building, however, does not necessarily mean the end of the museum dedicated to Daniel's life and career in music.
Mr Gallagher said that he has already had a couple of inquiries from other tourism enterprises interested in the possibility of housing the unique collection.
He said that the centre generally opened from about 1 May to 1 October and in the seven seasons it was opened it attracted more than 51,000 visitors.
Mr Gallagher said they have been doing business with about 22 coach companies on a regular basis and the centre provided great spin-off business for Dungloe and the surrounding area.
He hopes it will continue to do so in another venue and said it would be a major tourism boost to any town.
