The PSNI have launched a murder investigation after a man was shot dead in Co Down.
A woman also sustained serious injuries in the incident which happened on the Lower Dromore Rd, Warrenpoint at around 7.30pm this evening.
The woman has been taken to Daisyhill Hospital in Newry.
The area has been sealed off as the investigation continues.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
Sinn Féin MLA Sinéad Ennis said she was shocked by the news of a shooting in the area.
"The PSNI have the area sealed off and I would appeal to anyone with information to bring it forward to assist the investigation," Ms Ennis said.
