A Russian missile hit a residential building in Kryvyi Rih in central Ukraine, injuring at least seven people, with more trapped under the rubble, officials said.

Two children were among the injured, regional governor Serhiy Lysak said on the Telegram messenger app.

The attack destroyed apartments from the first to the fifth floors, he added.

The building's smashed roof and collapsed floors covered in smoke could be seen on images shared by officials. Cars parked outside had been buried.

"Every day, every night, Russia unleashes the same terror. More and more civilian objects are being targeted. Russia only wants to continue the war, and each of its strikes negates any claims of diplomacy from Russia," President Volodymyr Zelensky said on X.

He released a fresh appeal to allies for weapons supplies and "stronger global support" to repel Russian aggression

Earlier, Ukrainian authorities issued air raid alerts for most of the country, after Russian strikes killed at least six people in southern Ukraine.

Preventive power blackouts were also introduced in Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions, Ukrainian energy provider DTEK said on Telegram.

Russian air strikes killed at least six people in southern Ukraine, a day after Russia and Ukraine launched record overnight drone attacks on each other.

Five people were killed in the southern city of Mykolaiv, according to the regional governor, while a sixth died in Zaporizhzhia in an attack that authorities said wounded more than a dozen.

About 300km to the east in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine's state emergency services agency said Russia carried out three air strikes that killed a man and damaged multiple buildings.

Zaporizhzhia Governor Ivan Fedorov said that 18 people were wounded, including five children.

"Boys aged 4, 16 and 17 and girls aged 15 and 17 have received the necessary medical assistance," he said on Telegram.

Overnight Saturday into yesterday, Russia fired 145 drones at Ukraine, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, more than any previous single nighttime attack during the conflict.
