The UK's City Minister Tulip Siddiq has resigned, telling the Prime Minister that controversy surrounding her had become a distraction.
She is the second minister to resign from Keir Starmer's government since it took office last year.
Ms Siddiq is the niece of the ousted former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina.
She faced pressure over the past few days to resign from her role as economic secretary to the treasury and city minister after she was named in a corruption investigation in Bangladesh.
Conservative Party leader, Kemi Badenoch, was among those calling for her to be removed from the government.
It was alleged that Ms Siddiq had lived in London properties linked to allies of her aunt.
She referred herself to the government's independent adviser on ministerial standards, Laurie Magnus, who subsequently stated in a letter to the Prime Minister that "it is regrettable that she was not more alert to the potential reputational risks - both to her and the Government - arising from her close family's association with Bangladesh".
However, Mr Magnus added that he "would not advise that this shortcoming should be taken as a breach of the Ministerial Code, but you will want to consider her ongoing responsibilities in the light of this".
In her resignation letter, Ms Siddiq told Mr Starmer that the government's independent advisor had found no evidence that she had "acted improperly in relation to the properties I have owned or lived in, nor to suggest that any of my assets 'derive from anything other than legitimate means'".
She noted that the advisor found that she had "not breached the Ministerial Code".
In response, Mr Starmer told Ms Siddiq that "in accepting your resignation, I also wish to be clear that Sir Laurie Magnus as Independent Adviser has assured me he found no breach of the Ministerial Code and no evidence of financial improprieties on your part".
Mr Starmer thanked her and added that "the door remains open for you going forward".
