A British police officer has accepted responsibility for killing Sarah Everard, a court has heard.
PC Wayne Couzens, 48, appeared at the Old Bailey this morning, when he pleaded guilty to the kidnap and rape of Ms Everard earlier this year.
The court heard Couzens accepted responsibility for the killing of the 33-year-old marketing executive but was not asked to enter a plea to a charge of murder.
Ms Everard went missing as she walked home from a friend's house in Clapham, south London, on 3 March.
A major police investigation was launched and her body was found a week later in woodland in Kent.
