The jury in the Stardust inquests has concluded its deliberations for the day and will resume again tomorrow morning.

The jury has been considering its verdicts for more than 24 hours in total since it began deliberating on 3 April.

Tomorrow will be its 8th day of deliberations.

Earlier, coroner, Dr Myra Cullinane, told the jurors that they were answering factual questions and are not permitted in law to attach failure to any person identified or identifiable.

She made her comments in response to a query from the jury who asked if, when answering yes/no questions on their questionnaire, if a 'yes' implied a failure/breach/wrongdoing.

Dr Cullinane replied that they were not implying failure of wrongdoing if they answered ‘yes’.

The jury also asked about the standards in place at the time in 1981.

These fresh inquests began last April and have heard testimony from over 300 witnesses.
