Minister for the Environment Alan Kelly has welcomed a new €300m investment package for social housing saying it will result in additional housing units.
€150m of the funding is being provided by the European Investment Bank with the rest being matched by the Government through the housing finance agency.
The announcement of the fund was made at a press conference in the Killarney Court apartment complex in Dublin which was regenerated in 2002.
