Eleven candidates will contest this week's Dublin South-West by-election to replace Fine Gael's Brian Hayes, who was elected an MEP in May.

Fine Gael's candidate is Cáit Keane, while Pamela Kearns is running for Labour.

John Lahart is the Fianna Fáil candidate and Cathal King will contest the election for Sinn Féin.

The Green Party candidate is Francis Noel Duffy and former MEP Paul Murphy is running for the Anti-Austerity Alliance.

Nicky Coules has been selected by the People Before Profit Alliance.

There are four independent or non-party candidates: Declan Burke, Colm O'Keeffe, Ronan McMahon and Tony Rochford.

The polls will open on 10 October at 7am and close at 10pm.
