Due to a severe illness, he lost one of his legs in 2000 and has since devoted himself to producing artworks on egg shells, a technique similar to traditional Chinese Shippo Art.

“I spend 8 years developing my artistic level and now, quite frankly, I am the number one master of coloured eggs in Hubei.

“They city government has also honoured me as one of the top 10 people with disabilities”, he said.

Eggs

The eggs he chooses for his work come from chickens, ducks, geese, quail and ostriches, and he uses more than 100 types of ornament as decoration.

By using his considerable imagination, Dong is able to turn these shells into truly beautiful works of art.
