RTÉ reporter Cian McCormack describes his plans for the 'Ireland by Bike' series, which will see him cover 80km of Irish roads every day for two weeks.
IRELAND BY BIKE
For the next two weeks I’ll be taking my bike to the country’s high roads and byroads.
For the ‘Ireland by Bike’ series on Morning Ireland on RTÉ Radio 1 I’ll be stopping in towns, villages and communities along the Wild Atlantic Way from Mizen Head (in the south) to Malin Head in the North.
I expect to cover about 80km every day, carrying 30kg of broadcasting equipment for the entire journey.
During the two weeks on the road, I’ll be dipping in and out of the 2,500km ‘Wild Atlantic Way’ and doing whatever I can to complete my journey in two weeks.
So, if I fall far behind in my journey, or if I am worn down from cycling, a test of public transport could be in the offing!
