Limerick City and County Council has unveiled Golf Limerick, an initiative designed to position the county as a premier international golf destination long after the Ryder Cup 2027 at Adare Manor.
The campaign aims to ensure the global spotlight brought by the Ryder Cup delivers sustained economic and tourism benefits for Limerick in partnership with the seven Limerick Golf courses.
Mayor of Limerick John Moran said the Ryder Cup will bring global attention to Limerick and Golf Limerick will help ensure that the county benefits long after the final putt.
The initiative brings together Limerick's diverse golf offering - from championship courses to parkland experiences, under a single, unified identity.
Beyond the fairways, the campaign integrates Limerick’s hospitality, events and cultural and heritage attractions, for both the domestic and international audience.
As part of the campaign, a new Golf Limerick video has been developed, celebrating golf through a Limerick lens.
A Golf Limerick YouTube channel has also been launched today, offering practical information for golfers planning to visit Limerick
"The launch of Golf Limerick marks a significant step in how we maximise the opportunity presented by the Ryder Cup 2027," said Mayor Moran.
"It is about positioning our city and county as a world-class destination, not just for golf, but for the full experience we have to offer."
Adare Manor will host the 46th Ryder Cup from 17-19 September next year.
Príomh Chomhairleoir Cllr Catherine Slattery said "this new brand is about showcasing the very best of our county in a coordinated and ambitious way".
Director General of Limerick City and County Council, Dr Pat Daly, said Golf Limerick is a strategic investment in the long-term economic development of Limerick.
"The Ryder Cup provides a unique global platform, and it is essential that we leverage that visibility in a structured and sustainable way," Mr Daly said.
"This initiative demonstrates strong collaboration between the council, tourism partners and stakeholders to deliver lasting impact and position Limerick as a leading international golf destination."
