Boy hospitalised after dog attack in west Dublin

A boy has been taken to hospital after a dog attack in Clonsilla, Dublin 15 today.

A statement from gardaí said that they and emergency services had attended the scene following reports of an incident involving a dog at approximately 1.30pm.

A male child was taken to Temple Street Children's Hospital for treatment of injuries, believed to be non-life-threatening.

The dog has been removed by the Dog Warden and arrangements are being made with the local veterinary services for its euthanisation.

Investigations are ongoing.
