A commemorative walk has taken place to mark the fourth anniversary of Ashling Murphy's death.
The 23-year-old school teacher was murdered as she walked along the Grand Canal in Tullamore on 12 January 2022.
The walk along the Grand Canal ended at her memorial shrine, where the principal of Durrow National School where she taught, thanked those present for their ongoing support.
James Hogan said what happened four years ago should never have happened but said Aisling's spirit lives on.
He said the memorial fund set up in her memory will continue to give young people opportunities in the areas of music, the arts and the Irish language.
The walk was attended by Ms Murphy's family, her partner Ryan Casey, and many close colleagues and friends.
The Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund hosted the event.
The fund was established by her family and friends, to raise funds for causes she believed in.
In November 2023, 33-year-old Jozef Puska was sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of her murder.
