Over 250 people attended Kerry County Council's first-ever 'One Stop Shop' event supporting the county's migrant community.
Organised by the local authority's Integration Team (LAIT), it was run in conjunction with Kerry Community Integration Forum at the Great Southern Hotel in Killarney.
Over the past year, the country's 32 local authorities have set up Local Authority Integration Teams (LAITS). These are based on the hubs set up in 2022 to support those fleeing the war in Ukraine and have now expanded their role to support all migrants.
Today's event brought together some 80 information stands showcasing support organisations, local sporting clubs and national agencies providing practical information and advice for Kerry's migrant community.
Information sessions were also held on key topics such as work permits, volunteering, childcare, mental health and education.
A new app was also launched. The INTEGREAT App is modelled on a similar app in Germany providing accessible information on local support services, learning English, employment, health and mental health.
Organisers say there are plans to hold further events such as today's in the future.
Kerry County Council's Integration Support Coordinator Rásaí Nic Chárthaigh said "those who came felt very connected and that is what we hoped to achive those of uswho work to support migrants in Kerry".
