Mourners have been warned of traffic delays and a one-way traffic system in place for those attending today's wake for the late Cork jockey Michael O'Sullivan at his home in north Cork.

The 24-year-old is to be buried at St John's Cemetery, Glantane, following Requiem Mass tomorrow at midday.

Mr O'Sullivan, from Lombardstown near Mallow, died on Sunday at Cork University Hospital, nine days after he fell from his horse during a race at Thurles.

His body will repose at his home until 7pm this evening, followed by prayers.

The funeral Mass will take place at noon tomorrow at St. John the Baptist Church in Glantane after which Mr O'Sullivan will be laid to rest at St. John's Cemetery nearby.

Gardaí said a traffic management plan will be in place for the funeral which will see a one-way system in operation today from Lombardstown village to Gortroe and on to the O'Sullivan home.

Stewards and gardaí will be at locations along the route to assist with traffic. Traffic delays are expected in the area and motorists are asked to follow the directions of gardaí and stewards.
