The court heard that this man remains in an induced coma in ICU at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.
Detective Sergeant Ciara Hayes of Monaghan Garda Station told the court that she was objecting to bail for all three of the accused given the seriousness of the charges and the strength of the evidence against them.

The court heard that Jason and Stephen Maughan voluntarily presented themselves at Monaghan Garda Station the morning after the alleged assault.
