Thousands of people have protested in Dublin in support of Palestinians and against Israel's military actions in Gaza.
The demonstration marched from O'Connell Street to Shelbourne Road which is the location of the Israeli embassy.
The Dublin protest was one of several around the country today organised by the Palestine Solidarity Committee.
Several thousand attended including members of the Palestinian community in Ireland.
Some expressed fears for their families and friends in Gaza. They have been hearing that conditions in the enclave have been rapidly deteriorating and they are finding it increasingly difficult to keep in touch with their loved ones as power and internet access have been cut.
They marched to Shelbourne Road where a garda barricade kept the protest a few hundred metres away from the Israeli embassy.
Others said many of their relatives in the northern part of Gaza are reluctant to leave their homes as ordered by the Israeli army.
Speaking at the demonstration near the the Israeli Embassy, Dr Abdullah Al Bayvari said the demand that they leave their homes has refreshed memories of old traumas from 1948 when millions of Palestinians were displaced during the foundation of the state of Israel.
He said: "It's reminiscent of 1948, when we were asked to leave our homes and we held onto our keys, and we held onto our deeds, in the hope that as they promised we could return, and we never returned."
Dr Al Bayvari, who works in Portiuncla Hospital in Galway, said his aunt had at first said she would not leave her home in the northern part of Gaza.
He said: "Her initial plan was to gather her daughter and her family, her nearby family, and they were all going to stay in the same house, so that if they died they would die together...thankfully we convinced her to leave, we got a call this morning, and thankfully she had moved south which great."
Speakers at the demonstration also called for the Irish Government to recognise the Palestinian State, to impose sanctions on Israel and to use its seat on the UN Security council to prevent further military action in Gaza.
A pro-Israeli demonstration is due to be held in Dublin on Sunday.
