Three people have been arrested as part of an investigation targeting dissident republican activity along the border.
Gardaí carried out a number of searches in Co Cavan this morning.
The Special Detective Unit supported by the Ballistics and Forensics units along with gardaí from the northern division were involved in the search.
The three people who were arrested are being questioned at garda stations in Cavan.
Gardaí have described the operation as "significant" and say it is part of an ongoing intelligence operation aimed at targeting, disrupting, and prosecuting those involved in violent dissident republicanism.
