Joe Biden supporters in his ancestral hometown of Ballina are heeding the candidate's call to "keep the faith", as counting of votes continues in the US presidential election.
The Democratic Party candidate’s great, great, great grandfather Edward Blewitt emigrated from the town over 160 years ago.
After staging a "Ridin’ with Biden" motorcade around Ballina last night, locals were hoping for the start of a new chapter in the link between the US and Ireland today.
But with the margin between the candidates a lot tighter than many expected, there is a generally more considered outlook around this afternoon.

People are not counting their chickens before they hatch and say they are preparing for a longer than anticipated wait before the outcome is clear.
David O’Malley likened the mood to that familiar to the county’s football fans, saying that Mayo supporters were well versed in waiting for their favoured result.
He expressed concern at some of the comments made by Donald Trump earlier today and joked that ten or twelve votes from Ballina residents living in the US could ultimately decide the contest.
Another local man out shopping this afternoon said the incumbent was "upsetting the apple cart, like he always does".
Jimmy Gorman said it was hard to know what way the results would play out but he is still hoping that Mr Biden will prevail, as he would be "better for America and better for Ireland".
The Blewitt family from Knockmore have been following the twists and turns in this campaign a little closer than most.
They are distant cousins of the man aiming to be the 46th President of the United States and are keeping their fingers crossed as the count continues.

Plumber Joe Blewitt, who has decorated his van with Biden signage, says the campaign headquarters in Delaware is being constantly appraised of the support from north Mayo.
He feels that Mr Biden may have to wait a few days before the ultimate outcome is clear.
Mr Blewitt's children have taken the day off school to enjoy the electoral action.
Their focus is on a potential trip to Washington for some shopping... and maybe a visit to the White House too.
