Sinn Féin's Ann Graves is Swords-based and a former councillor. She previously contested for a Dáil seat for the old Dublin Fingal constituency at the November 2019 by-election caused by Clare Daly's election to the European Parliament earlier that year.

One of two Sinn Féin candidates who contested the Swords LEA in the June local elections, she was unsuccessful in her pursuit of a seat.
