• Count nine - Sinn Féin's Mark Ward is elected as Gino Kenny loses his seat

A dramatic ninth count in Dublin Mid-West has seen Sinn Féin's Mark Ward re-elected and Solidarity-PBP's Gino Kenny lose his Dáil seat.

The distribution of Labour's Francis Timmons gave Ward 406 votes, taking him to 4,923 and ten votes over the quota.

Independent Ireland's Cllr Linda De Courcy, who campaigned on a "common-sense approach" to immigration, received 148 votes, pushing her 68 votes ahead of Gino Kenny and the two-time TD out of his seat.

The main beneficiary of Timmons' distribution was Social Democrats' councillor Eoin Ó Broin, who took 669 votes, taking him to 1,051 and still very much in the chase for one of the remaining three seats, though still behind Shane Moynihan (FF), Emer Higgins (FG), Paul Gogarty (IND) and Vicki Casserly (FG).

Gino Kenny's 3,359 votes will now be distributed and are set to have a significant say in the final result here.
