Lie of the land...

Roscommon-Galway stays as a three-seat constituency, but its geographical make up has been altered.

A chunk of the constituency was transferred to Galway East, while the northern end sees the addition of a number of electoral divisions previously included in Sligo-Leitrim.

In essence, this means all of Co Roscommon is now under the one roof.

But as the county's population is not big enough to warrant its own three seater, a slice of east Galway remains in the frame too.
