Outgoing TDs

This five-seater constituency takes in Galway City, Connemara and a number of islands, with Galway West candidates having to manage both urban and rural concerns. As recommended in the nationwide boundary review, Galway West has had some areas transferred to the Mayo constituency ahead of this election. Its outgoing TDS are Catherine Connolly (Independent), Mairéad Farrell (Sinn Féin), Noel Grealish (Independent), Hildegarde Naughton (Fine Gael) and Éamon Ó Cuív (Fianna Fáil).
