A number of protesters have gathered on upper O'Connell Street, following the attack on Parnell Square.

At one point a group of protesters blocked a Luas on the green line there.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said that in addition to attending the crime scene, gardaí would be keeping a presence in the area to "maintain the peace".
