Elderly community hospital residents relocated
A number of elderly residents that were affected by the flooding to the front of Midleton Community Hospital have been safely relocated to a HSE facility in the city, Cork Kerry Community Healthcare has said.
"We are grateful to all those involved in moving them quickly and calmly this morning. These residents will continue to be cared for by the same familiar team from Midleton Community Hospital," the organisation said in a statement.
"We also wish to thank our staff and the other statutory agencies for their work and support in the last 24 hours, which has allowed us to continue to safely care for the remaining residents on site at Midleton Community Hospital."
Its teams have spent today cleaning and assessing the damage to that part of the community hospital.
"We aim to have it re-open as soon as possible," the statement added.
