President of Midleton Chamber of Commerce Adrianna Hegarty said the cost of damage caused by the flooding in the east Cork town is around €200 million.
She told RTÉ's Six One: "We counted 150 (damaged) businesses and that's not counting other streets or housing developments that are very local.
"There is no flood insurance here, so a lot of people have to take the brunt of it themselves.
"I think there's €200 million worth of damage done, and that's counting bridges, roads, towns, there's probably a lot more but that was the cost we were given today."
