• In a special programme, RTÉ's The Late Late Show heard from Ukrainian people living in Ireland about the crisis in their home country.

Luba Healy, who lives in Co Meath, said that she is "speechless" with everything that is happening there.

She told presenter Ryan Tubridy that both her mother (70) and grandmother (98) are still living in Ukraine, and they live in fear.

Ms Healy said that her grandmother is not mobile and that her mother is "keeping quiet" about what is going on. "Because she lived through the Second World War and she knows better than most," Ms Healy said.

She told the programme that she last visited Ukraine last summer when Covid travel restrictions were lifted, a trip that she described as "beautiful" and "normal".

"My heart is broken for them [people in Ukraine]", she said.
