Second count analysis - transfers boost Murphy
Paul Murphy has gotten a big boost in the second count at Dublin South West, writes Laura Hogan.
The outgoing Solidarity PBP TD picked up 3,444 transfers from Sinn Féin's Seán Crowe.
Crowe had a surplus of almost 9,000 votes after being elected on the first count.
The quota to be elected inDublin South West is 11,261 and Paul Murphy is now firmly in contention, with 7,921 votes.
Fine Gael's Colm Brophy has 8,382 votes while Fianna Fáil and the Green Party are almost neck and neck.
Outgoing TD John Lahart stands at 5,656 while first time General election candidate Francis Duffy for the Greens isn't far behind on 5,551.
Minister for Children Katherine Zappone received just 433 transfers from Seán Crowe.
Renua's Anne Marie Condren, National Party candidate Philip Dwyer and Independent Colm O'Keefe were all excluded and their votes will be redistributed.
