
Current Mayor of Limerick and Fianna Fáil general election candidate James Collins has topped the poll in Limerick City West according to final tally figures, which showed him receiving 13.1% of first preference votes.
He is followed closely by the Metropolitan Mayor, Fine Gael's Cllr Daniel Butler (12.4%), as well as Labour's Joe Leddin (8.7%), Independent candidate Fergus Kilcoyne (7.1%), Fianna Fáil first-time candidate Abul Kalam Azad Talukder (6.6%) and Fine Gael sitting councillor Elenora Hogan (6.4%).
According to the final tallies there looks set to be tough battle for the final seat in this seven-seater constituency between Green Party candidate Breandán MacGabhann (5.8%), Social Democrats Elisa O'Donovan (5.5%) and sitting Fianna Fáil Cllr Sean Lynch (5.5%).
