Jennie O'Sullivan reporting from Cork says the fire services reported a very quiet night with no call-outs in the city.

It has been lightly snowing continuously overnight but there was no sign of the blizzard conditions that were expected.

High tide passed just before 6am without incident - with no reports of flooding in the city and in coastal towns like Youghal and Clonakilty.
