An update on the state of play in Foyle and East Londonderry from Alistair McConnell.

People Before Profit's Eamonn McCann, who was elected last year after 50 years of trying, appears to have lost his seat in Foyle barring a major turn of fortunes.

SDLP leader Colum Eastwood will retain his seat, along with party colleague Mark H Durkan. The DUP's Gary Middleton appears likely to take the final seat.

No one has been elected so far in East Londonderry, with the count looking like it may go well into tomorrow.

Sinn Féin's Caoimhe Archibald has topped the poll, the DUP's Maurice Bradley and George Robinson look comfortable and Independent Unionist Claire Sugden, who was the justice minister in the previous assembly is very confident.

The DUP could lose their third seat, with Adrian McQuillan nearly 1,000 votes behind Sinn Féin's Cathal Ó hOisín.
