Pope Francis' visit to Ireland is the first visit by a Pope since 1979. He is due to carry out a number of engagements during his 36-hour stay.
Saturday 25 August
10.30am Arrives in Dublin Airport
11.15am Courtesy visit to President Michael D Higgins at Áras an Uachtaráin
12.10pm Meets authorities, civil society and diplomatic corps at Dublin Castle where he will deliver a speech
3.30pm Visits St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral in Dublin city centre
4.30pm Visits the Capuchin Day Centre on Church Street
7.30pm Arrives at Croke Park Stadium for the Festival of Families, following a private meeting with survivors of clerical abuse
Sunday 26 August
9.45am Arrives at Knock Shrine in Co Mayo, where he will visit the Chapel of Knock Shrine and deliver the Angelus.
3pm Papal mass in Phoenix Park, where up to 500,000 people are expected to attend
6.45pm Departs Dublin Airport for Rome
