Fianna Fáil TD Catherine Ardagh has been appointed as Minister of State at the Department of Justice.

The Dublin South-Central TD, who has also worked as a solicitor, was elected to the Dáil in 2024.

She had previously been elected to the Seanad.

Limerick TD and Junior Minister Niall Collins will move from his current role in the Department of Justice to the Department of Agriculture.

This is to fill the vacancy stemming from the resignation of Michael Healy-Rae following the fallout from the fuel protests last month.

The Cabinet agreed the changes at an incorporeal meeting this morning.

Ms Ardagh will have responsibility for international law, law reform and youth justice.

Mr Collins will oversee forestry, farm safety and horticulture at the Department of Agriculture.
