Three candidates are seeking to run for Fine Gael in the Galway West by-election.
At close of nominations today, Senator Seán Kyne, councillor Eddie Hoare and former President of Young Fine Gael Eoghan Gallagher had all been nominated.
A selection convention will take place on 22 February in Galway where Fine Gael members will vote to choose the party's candidate.
The by-election is being held to fill the Dáil seat vacated by Catherine Connolly after she was elected as president last year.
Earlier this month, Taoiseach Micheál Martin confirmed that he intends to hold the by-elections in Galway West and Dublin Central during the month of May.
