Tánaiste and Fine Gael leader Simon Harris will travel to Croatia today for a two-day European People's Party summit on migration, security, and the future of the EU-US relationship following the Greenland tariffs crisis.

The European People's Party is the European Parliament group of Fine Gael.

It also includes European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

The meeting in Zagreb is expected to be attended by more than 20 political leaders.

As part of the event, Mr Harris is due to hold bilateral meetings with Ms von der Leyen and Mr Merz this evening.

In a statement ahead of the meeting, Mr Harris said: "Geo-political events of the past couple of weeks, and indeed the past year, underscore the need for European parties to work more closely together."
