Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin has said the report into the party's presidential campaign will be published "before Christmas."
Asked if that could be in time for the Fianna Fáil parliamentary party meeting today, the Taoiseach repeated that the document would be released before Christmas.
Mr Martin is travelling to Brussels for an EU leaders late next Wednesday.
The parliamentary party meeting could be held earlier in the day, or rescheduled for Tuesday 16 December.
The Dáil rises on Thursday 18 December for its Christmas break.
The review was established to consider the steps taken during the identification and selection process of Jim Gavin as Fianna Fáil's presidential nomination, and will also examine the basis on which he was selected as a candidate.
Mr Gavin withdrew from the election campaign on 5 October and the review will focus on that campaign, up to and including that day.
His withdrawal came following an Irish Independent report that he owed a former tenant €3,300.
At the time Mr Martin said "very comprehensive due diligence" was done on Mr Gavin, but that an issue with a former tenant was "probably buried somewhere in the recesses of his mind".
At a meeting of the parliamentary party days after Mr Gavin's withdrawal, Mr Martin apologised to his party colleagues.
