A new investment programme to support housing delivery across Ireland by small and medium-sized developers will be brought forward next month by the new Minister for Finance, Simon Harris.
The Tánaiste told the Fine Gael parliamentary party tonight that the new equity finance measure will be delivered through the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund, partnering with the national banking sector.
Equity finance will support developers to scale up delivery and unlock viable projects which are in need of capital.
Minister Harris said the Finance Bill, which contains the Budget 2026 measures, will complete its passage through the Dáil next week.
He said he will introduce a financial resolution in the Dáil on Tuesday which will provide clarity around the reduction in VAT on apartment construction, announced in the Budget, to ensure approved housing bodies and providers of student accommodation have clarity on the measures.
