Independent TD Barry Heneghan has said he has been released from detention by the Israeli Defence Forces after a number of flotilla vessels heading to Gaza were intercepted.
Mr Heneghan and author Naoise Dolan were among five Irish citizens detained by the Israeli military.
In an Instagram post, the Independent TD said several EU elected representatives, including himself, have been released.
"Since landing, I've been in contact with the department and consular services, who are working tirelessly to protect citizens," he said.
He said an "arrival brigade" will be organised for the four other Irish citizens "still in prison" when they return home.
He added the priority "must be the other humanitarians and thousands of Palestinian hostages still imprisoned and all the people of Gaza still suffering".
The Independent TD thanked the public for applying pressure since the "illegal abduction".

The Israeli foreign ministry said yesterday it had intercepted boats entering waters it said fall under its blockade of Gaza.
"Another futile attempt to breach the legal naval blockade and enter a combat zone ended in nothing. The vessels and the passengers are transferred to an Israeli port," it said on social media.
Earlier, Tánaiste Simon Harris confirmed in the Dáil that Mr Heneghan was back in Ireland.
"Israel released parliamentarians first," he said.
Mr Harris said he is calling for the "swift" release of other Irish citizens and is engaging with the embassy on this.
During Leaders Questions, Social Democrats TD Cian O'Callaghan asked Mr Harris if there will be repercussions for Israel for kidnapping Irish citizens.
He called their detainment "utterly unacceptable".
In response, Mr Harris said the Irish citizens' detainment was "illegal" and he will consider how to pursue the matter.
