Now that the Programme for Government has been agreed, preparations for voting on it by members of the two big parties, Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael are being advanced.
It is anticipated that the document will be published this afternoon ahead of a meeting of the Fianna Fáil Parliamentary Party where it will be discussed.
Fine Gael will likely hold a similar meeting to examine the text of the programme.
The vast majority of politicians in both parties will be seeing its contents for the first time.
Under their rules, both parties have to put the programme to their members for a vote and that will also happen over the coming days.
Fine Gael will hold five regional meetings for members, starting in Dublin on Thursday or Friday, followed by meetings in the northeast, northwest, southeast and southwest on Saturday and Sunday.
At these meetings members will be asked to vote in favour or against the programme.
Then on Monday the Fine Gael Parliamentary Party, TDs, MEPs and Senators, will meet to vote on the programme.
All party ballots will be counted on Monday, with a result expected on Monday evening.
Fianna Fáil will hold one special national Ard Fheis for its members on Sunday.
That will take place in Dublin at midday.
Party leader Mícheál Martin will present the programme to members for discussion followed by a vote.
Voting will conclude at 5pm and the results of that vote will be available around 6pm.
If, as expected, both parties approve the document, the path is clear for them to enter government and for the election of Micheál Martin as Taoiseach when the Dáil meets on 22 January.
