Slight drop in support for Sinn Féin, opinion poll suggests

Support for Sinn Féin has dropped slightly to 29%, the latest Sunday Independent/Ireland Thinks opinion poll suggests.

It represents a 1 point decrease on the previous comparable poll.

The poll also suggests that support for Independents and others has surpassed Fianna Fáil.

Fine Gael has experienced a marginal drop in support, down 1 to 19%.

Coalition partners Fianna Fáil remain unchanged on 17%.

The Social Democrats are also unchanged at 5%. The Labour Party is up one to 4%.

The Greens, Solidarity/People Before Profit and Aontú are all unchanged and all stand at 3%.

Finally, support for Independents and others has increased by one point to 18%

The poll was taken on Thursday and Friday of this week among a sample size of 1,394 people with a margin of error of +/- 2.7%.
