Sinn Féin support increases, according to latest poll

Sinn Féin remains the most popular political party and has seen a rise in support, the latest Irish Times/Ipsos opinion poll suggests.

According to the research, the party is up three points to 34%.

Fianna Fáil is the second most popular party, but has seen a 1% fall in support to 20%.

Fine Gael is unchanged at 18%.

The poll indicates that both the Green Party and Labour Party have seen a 1% drop in support, both standing at 3%.

Meanwhile, the Social Democrats has seen a 3% drop to 2%.

Independents and others are up three points to 20%.

Undecided voters were 23% and were excluded from the above findings.

The poll was carried out between 24 and 26 September and was conducted amongst 1,200 adults.

It has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.8%.
