RTÉ gave promotional airtime to Toy Show the Musical which had a "notional" value of €1.3m, according to documents provided to politicians ahead of a committee hearing later this week.
In the documents, RTÉ says the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland code allows for promotional airtime as opposed to commercial airtime to be used to promote its own programmes and products.
RTÉ says there is no "monetary figure" assigned to the value of promotions, which are separate to commercial minutage restrictions and do not impact on commercial revenue from the sale of advertising.
It adds: "If a notional assessment were to be made using the RTÉ advertising rate card as a reference point, then the promotional value of Toy Show the Musical between May and December of 2022 would be approximately €1.3m."
The note is part of 178 documents provided to the Oireachtas Media Committee ahead of its hearing with RTÉ representatives on Wednesday.
Also contained in the documents are emails between Ryan Tubridy's agent Noel Kelly and the then Director General of RTÉ Dee Forbes between January 2022 and April 2022.
The emails relate to Mr Tubridy's contract and to the additional annual payment of €75,000 that he was due to be paid.
"We will be going into year three of his contract on April 1st so I am sure you can appreciate, we need to get this sorted asap," Mr Kelly wrote in an email dated 13 January 2022.
List of potential Late Late Show hosts
The Oireachtas Media Committee asked for correspondence relating to the list of candidates to replace Mr Tubridy as presenter of the Late Late Show.
The names of individuals are redacted, but in one email, an RTÉ executive suggests that a list of potential presenters was too long and should be shortened.
"We probably need to cut this down. To get good quality info back, I would suggest 12 names would be ideal. There's 26 there. Could probably push to 14 and it would be well disguised," the executive wrote.
'Unfortunate effect' of DG salary cap
The committee has also been given minutes of meetings of the remuneration committee of the RTÉ Board.
In a meeting held on 7 December 2017, Ms Forbes outlined details of new contracts that were being offered to individuals on the Executive Board.
"The committee agreed that the contracts were appropriate and again noted the unfortunate effect of the cap on the Director General's salary which left very little space for manoeuvre at senior level," the minutes state.
Car allowances
In response to queries from the Oireachtas Media Committee regarding car allowances paid to staff, a document from RTÉ shows that at the end of last year, 61 people were in receipt of a car allowance.
The allowances paid ranged from €1,000 to €25,000, with six staff members receiving allowances in the highest scale: €24,000 - €25,000.
Asked about the possibility that an individual may not have a driver’s licence and still be allocated a car allowance, RTÉ said: "Car allowances form part of some employee remuneration and there is no requirement to have a driving licence."
Lowest-paid staff
Responding to a request for information about the salaries of the 50 lowest-paid staff in RTÉ, a document outlines the lowest paid salary scales at the end of last year had starting points of between €24,000 and €26,000 per year.
"These scales relate to some administrative grades and some operational grades," the document states.
