Minister Helen McEntee has given birth to a baby boy.
A Department of Justice spokesperson said the baby was born in the Rotunda Hospital in Dublin this morning.
The spokesperson added that both Helen McEntee and the baby are doing well.
"The minister and her husband Paul are delighted with the new arrival," he added.
This is the second time Minister McEntee has taken maternity leave while in Cabinet.
In 2021, she became the first Cabinet minister in the history of the State to give birth and take maternity leave while in office, when her first son was born.
