The Taoiseach has told the Dáil that he has "been corrected" on remarks he made about an RTÉ decision to drop a recent interview with Shane Ross.
Micheál Martin said that there had been a "brief exchange" in the chamber regarding a Sunday Independent article on a decision by RTÉ to drop an interview with former minister Shane Ross about his book on Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald.
Mr Martin said that, in agreeing with Fine Gael's Paul Kehoe during that debate, "I speculated" that a reason RTÉ dropped the interview "may have been a fear of being sued".
He recounted that he had said that, "apparently a political party got access to the interview".
Mr Martin then said that on this "I stood to be corrected," adding he was happy to correct the record.
"A closer reading of the interview," in the Sunday Independent revealed that it was access to "extracts from the book that were to be offered to Sinn Féin rather than the interview," Mr Martin said.
"I'm happy to clarify that and to correct the record," he said.
Last week, Mr Martin said he "got it wrong" with what he said in the Dáil chamber.
