Sinn Féin's Eoin Ó Broin has said that his party has "responded in writing" to the Data Protection Commissioner and "given full responses to all of the questions she has raised".
Speaking at Leinster House, he said Sinn Féin was "very interested in what she has to say" about their letter.
The Data Protection Commission wrote to Sinn Féin last week to seek more information about reports that the party has compiled a database containing personal information of millions of voters.
In the letter, the DPC outlined a series of questions about the 'Abú' system, including an explanation of the legal basis for the processing of the information contained in the database.
Speaking this morning, Sinn Féin's Housing Spokesperson said: "Our view is that we are fully compliant with EU legislation, but clearly if there are issues, or indeed improvements to our system, we would welcome those".
Mr Ó Broin maintained that "it was not true" that his party is "data-mining from Facebook."
He added: "Any information I get from anyone on Facebook, they give it to me consensually. I ask them for it - and they provide it."
He said he did not add such information onto any party database.
