There is "no magic vaccine tree". That is the message from Taoiseach Micheál Martin for opposition and backbenchers who are pressing Ministers to speed up the pace of delivery.
The Government is not going to meet its original targets for vaccine delivery as drug companies, particularly AstraZeneca, have not meet their commitments.
Slower delivery means the Government will also be delaying lifting restrictions. Ministers, who have had to row back on promises before, are being deliberately vague about when bars, restaurants and non-essential retail might reopen.
