Minister of State for Special Education Josepha Madigan has said that being involved in the caretaker Government when the Covid19 pandemic first hit was stressful and a huge responsibility.
"I think we will look back at this time all of us with a little bit of post-traumatic shock at some point and say how did we manage to even live through it."
She also said that she does not see any reason why the Dáil cannot sit remotely in the future.
She was speaking to Aisling Kenny for a special edition of RTÉ's Your Politics Podcast to discuss the lack of women in politics, despite the introduction of gender quotas.
She talks about going against her family tradition of supporting Fianna Fáil when she decided to join Fine Gael.
She said that geography went against her after the last general election which resulted in her going from being in Cabinet to a junior ministerial position.
