They called it the Boring Budget.
In a nutshell there was very little change for most people in Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe's package of measures.
He had promised it would be a prudent Budget but he also set aside substantial amounts in the event of a no deal Brexit.
But the backdrop to the Budget is Brexit.
As the Dáil debated the Budget Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson were in touch by phone to discuss Brexit developments.
