Sinn Féin general election candidate Toireasa Ferris, has said she will not contest the general election for the party for personal reasons.
Ms Ferris, daughter of TD Martin Ferris, told a meeting of the party last night that it was with "great reluctance and heart break" she was withdrawing.
The 39-year-old mother of two has been told to scale down the pace of her life after a health issue which was not serious.
She will remain as Kerry county councillor.
A convention to select a new candidate will be held in August.
